Badger Pass, just 19 miles from the cabin offers a full ski lodge, lessons, and rentals. Check conditions and operation calendar at www.badgerpass.com. Be sure to fill up your gas tank before entering the park (if coming from the south on Hwy 41, stop in Oakhurst). There is a 24 hour (with credit card) gas station just a mile from the cabin, but price is at a premium. If you forget any miscellaneous grocery items, the Pine Tree market is just a few hundred feet from the cabin. If entering the park from on Highway 41 (via Fresno), you can stop in Oakhurst at the Vons or Raley's supermarkets for your shopping needs.

Important Winter Travel Considerations
Yosemite is a great place to experience in the winter time. We want to be sure that our guests come prepared. Mountain conditions can change very quickly, so please take our advice. Tire chains are required in the winter and should be carried in your car, no exceptions. When conditions warrant, even four-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires must also put on tire chains/tire cables. Do not leave home without chains packed in your vehicle, as roadside CHP or Park Ranger check points will enforce chains if required for your safety. Pack a pair of old gloves for use when putting on chains, as finger tips get cold quickly. If your vehicle uses chains and the rubber band tensioner, and it has been a few years since you last used the chains, be sure to buy a new pair of rubber band chain tensioners as the rubber gets brittle and will break. Buying chains prior to your trip will ensure you pay a cheaper price and arrive prepared. Vons grocery store and other stores in Oakhurst do supply some winter eqiupment, but at a last minute price. Please drive safely!
